Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you want to know about Cosmic SMeL Music Production, our albums and our artists.
Who is Cosmic SMeL Music Production?
Cosmic SMeL is an independent label that gives new life to great texts — those that had something to say and were no longer being heard. A Renaissance poem, biblical texts, a partisan song — set to music today, in the languages of today. We don't choose projects for their genre. We choose them for what they still have to say.
What musical styles does the label produce?
The genre follows the text, not the other way around. A psalm calls for gospel. A poem by Ronsard calls for an Italian ballad. A partisan song calls for something organic and direct. The catalogue is varied because the sources are — not because we seek diversity for its own sake.
How many albums are available?
Three albums are currently available: Gala International de l'Harmonica (2002), Vento di Passione by Sandro Leone (March 2026) and Guided from Within (May 2026). Further projects are in development.

Who is Sandro Leone?
Sandro Leone is a Neapolitan singer who built Vento di Passione from poets no one expected to find there: Du Bellay, Baudelaire, Ronsard, Apollinaire, Bashō, Montéhus. Texts written between the 13th and 20th century, translated into Italian pop in 2026. Not an adaptation — a rebirth in another body. With a warm voice and a musical world blending sensual pop, R&B and sophisticated electro, he embodies Mediterranean charm and Italian passion.
Who is Jean-Louis Emmenecker?
Jean-Louis Emmenecker was a French virtuoso harmonica player and founder of the Harmonica Orchestra de Lorraine. Born in the Lorraine steel basin, he performed at Bobino and the Salle Pleyel, and for many years organised the International Harmonica Gala in Homécourt. He passed away in 2021. The 2002 live recording is one of the lasting traces of what he built for harmonica in France.
Who is behind Cosmic SMeL?
Cosmic SMeL is a team. Musicians, artists, sound engineers, designers — people who make music from start to finish, and who choose their projects for what makes them impossible to classify. The same hands that produce, record, mix, design and publish. That is why everything holds together.
